Noise-canceling headphones don't actually give you silence. Instead, the noise cancellation is actually other waves of sound that work against the outside noise to give you the silence you are looking for. As followers of Jesus (and humans), there's a lot of "noise" that sounds at us and around us. Our sins, people, feelings, thoughts, and hurts often throw us off from new life, experiencing peace, goodness, love, and meaning that God intends for us to have. During this retreat, we will work on learning new ways to live in the world that counter the noise and allow us to engage our faith in a deeper way.
