As everyone is aware, the number of Covid 19 cases is rising steadily in the OKC and Edmond areas. With everything going on right now, the Edmond Community Thanksgiving Dinner Committee made the difficult decision to cancel the drive-through dinner this year. However, it is importance to continue serving the community. Many people continue to need food and help during this ongoing pandemic. Therefore, the decision was made to distribute all donations made this year back to the community. Money will be given to Project 66, Hope Center, Mobile Meals, Breakfast on Boulevard, Samaritan House, and Cook’s Night Out. These are community services that provide food and essentials to people in the Edmond area.
The committee hopes that everyone understands this very difficult decision. Needless to say, the members of the Edmond Community Thanksgiving Dinner are heartbroken. However, they also feel that the health and safety of all involved are very important with this latest wave of the virus.
